U.S. Department of Agriculture Plants Seeds for I.T. Success with BMC Software

USDA to implement BMC ITSM v7 to integrate and manage a wide range of operational priorities, including forest and grassland management, rural development, nutrition services, and agricultural marketing organizations

HOUSTON (December 17, 2008) – After completing an exhaustive review of competitive offerings, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has selected BMC Software (NYSE: BMC) to help standardize IT processes, automate IT problem resolution, and integrate the management and delivery of the agency’s IT services.

“Under the terms of a new five-year agreement with BMC Federal partner Apptis, the USDA will deploy BMC’s industry-leading Remedy ITSM v7 suite,” said Dev Ittycheria, president of BMC’s Enterprise Service Management business unit. “This implementation will include the BMC Remedy Service Desk, Service Request Management, Change and Configuration Management and Knowledge Management solutions, all unified by BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB).”
