Europe, Australia and North America (April 08, 2008) –

The announcement comes in advance of the company’s participation at the Service Desk & IT Support Show, which takes place later this month (stand 551, National Hall, Olympia, 22-23 April). Following explosive growth over the last 12 months, Vivantio has seen the company build a significant client base from across a wide cross section of markets including the legal profession (Dickinson Dees); recruitment services (Allegis, Hays Specialist Recruitment); financial services (Clerical Medical and Intrinsic); health services (NHS, Department of Health, Barking & Dagenham PCT, BMI Healthcare); education market (Royal Academy of Music, Winchester University, Stanmore College); and social housing (Berwickshire Housing Association, Portswmouth Housing Association) amongst many others.

With over 70% of its current customer base opting for its online solution, Vivantio director, Russell Wiltshire, believes the company’s booming growth is due to the growing trend for purchasing its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering: “The results of the recent Gartner* report have backed up our own experience that the market and the demand for SaaS applications is growing. More and more service desk customers understand the benefit of using software on a SaaS basis as it avoids upfront capital investment in both software and hardware and reduces deployment time quite significantly.”

Since launch in 2003, Vivantio has given its Vivantio Service Desk customers the choice of whether to have the software installed on-site or on a SaaS basis and it remains one of the only service desk software providers to offer this option.

Vivantio Service Desk SaaS provides a fully managed, hosted service which allows customers to access and update the software over the Internet. Data is securely held at external data centres with high levels of security and a 99.85% availability or uptime.

Customers are attracted to simple monthly subscription fees rather than high upfront software costs, the speed of deployment and minimal internal support requirements with no software to install, no backups or internal servers to maintain.

This is the fourth year that the company, which will be displaying its latest generation of Vivantio Service Desk software, has appeared at the show.

As the leading event for IT service management, helpdesk and support, the show is expected to attract over 3,000 professionals from around the UK and beyond.

Commenting on the Show, Wiltshire said: “The Service Desk and IT Support Show has proven to be a consistent source of high quality sales leads for us and is now an important part of our business plan and an essential conduit for us to spread the word.”

Note to Editors: Analyst Gartner reports the global market for web-based delivery of applications reached $5.1 billion in 2007 and will grow to $11.5 billion by 2011–by which time it will account for over one-quarter of software sold to companies.
