European Commission Outsources Help Desk Service

The European Commission has recently decided to outsource its Help Desk Management to Fujitsu. The deal will give Fujitsu control of providing IT support to over 5,000 users in 134 different offices all over the world. Fujitsu was awarded the contract due to the fact that the value Fujitsu offered in comparison to other companies was maximized for the amount of money offered.

Fujitsu will be in charge of managing a number of IT services including the management of servers, PCs, labtops, printers, PDAs, and networks. Implementation of the new help desk support tools will occur in all offices. The agreeement with Fujitsu to provide the help desk support should allow the commission to focus more on the more important issues at hand.
